CLARITAS concluded agreements to exit from 206 MW of utility-scale PV projects in Poland.
CLARITAS, a pan-European renewable developer, completed the sale of 206 MW of PV projects to Columbus Energy in one of the largest renewable transactions in the Polish market to date. The sale portfolio consists of several sub-1MW projects across Poland as well as large-scale PV projects. Thanks to its locally based team at PAD RES, CLARITAS has developed the projects in-house and used equity and external finance to finance the construction.
“This has been the ultimate proof of concept.” said Bekir Sami Acar, Managing Director of CLARITAS Investments. “CLARITAS team has demonstrated the resilience to complete a full cycle of investment at a challenging time of the market. We are very satisfied with the result. Poland is a promising market for renewable and we’ll continue our build-up here.”
CLARITAS has over 600 MW of PV project pipeline and has recently pivoted into producing green hydrogen and battery storage in connection with its PV projects.
“We are extremely proud of this transaction.” said Mariusz Adamczewski, CEO of PAD RES. “Our team led by Grzegorz Gajewski, Wojciech Jasiński and Tomasz Walaszek have worked on a sizeable and complex portfolio of projects and managed to convert them into high quality assets at a relatively short time. Finalizing such a complex transaction would not be possible without the efforts of our legal team led by Piotr Dylik. We found a very professional and understanding transaction partner and I would like to thank the representatives of Columbus Energy; Mr. Janusz Sterna, Mr. Adam Jodłowski and Mr. Michał Gondek as well as the lawyers from Gessel law firm.”
The sale portfolio takes up a land size of 380 football fields and will generate 193,000,000 MWh/y of electricity upon completion. This means an abatement of 160 kilotons of CO2 which would otherwise be generated from fossil fuel sources.
