CLARITAS INVESTMENTS AND SOLARTECH COOPERATE ON ENERGY STORAGE SYSTEMS

CLARITAS Investments and Solartech, a Polish contractor for photovoltaic farms, have signed an agreement for the development of battery energy storage systems (BESS) in Poland. The goal of the collaboration is to create a platform for BESS projects with a combined capacity of 500 MW in Poland. Energy storage projects will be developed as standalone installations, as well as co-located with PV farms.

“This is another agreement we have made in the BESS segment, believing that the development of energy storage services will streamline the Polish power grid. We are building a portfolio of GW-scale and are trying to do so with partners who have extensive experience in the market. I am delighted to ollaborate with Solartech, who in addition to knowledge about developing such projects, also has practical experience in the construction and operation phases. This positively affects the quality of projects and our potential for further development.” says Michał Kopyś, Country Director of CLARITAS in Poland.

“Energy storage systems are key to effective energy transformation in Poland. The installed capacity of RES in Poland has exceeded 22 GW, and photovoltaics are one of the largest sources of renewable energy. To take the next step forward, we urgently need to move towards using produced energy in an even more efficient way. Energy storage systems are an essential element in the synergy of modern technological solutions, which solve challenges such as weather-dependent generation of energy from RES. We are convinced that cooperation with CLARITAS will bring real solutions to increase the energy security of our country,” says Bartłomiej Zysiński, CEO of Solartech.

CLARITAS is a pan-European energy transition investor focusing on greenfield and early-stage projects. CLARITAS invests in future-proof business models and create high-quality asset platforms for the benefit of a modern energy infrastructure. CLARITAS has been an active player in the Polish renewable energy market since 2018, and have been developing a GW-scale renewable portfolio.

Solartech is one of the largest contractors for photovoltaic farms in Poland. They implement “turnkey” RES projects, which include complete activities such as land acquisition for investments, PV installation design, obtaining necessary decisions and permits, construction, and commissioning of RES installations.
